How do I get to AT&T Stadium?

The Game Plan

Nine World Cup matches. One semi-final. Zero venues hosting more. When FIFA looked for a stage worthy of the beautiful game's biggest moments, they found it in Arlington, where AT&T Stadium is undergoing a $295 million transformation that includes literally lifting the entire playing surface 15 feet into the air. This engineering marvel will create a natural grass amphitheater suspended above where the Cowboys usually play, bringing 90,000 fans closer to World Cup action than physics should allow.

The numbers alone stagger: a 1.2 million pound video board floating 90 feet overhead, retractable doors taller than a 12-story building, and a roof that could cover an entire city block. But what truly sets this venue apart is how it's reimagining itself for soccer. The raised pitch won't just meet FIFA's width requirements, but transform the stadium into a powder keg where every seat hovers above the action, every chant echoes off that massive dome, and every moment plays out on screens so large that fans in the furthest reaches of the stadium still get a better view than at most luxury boxes elsewhere.

SEATING GUIDE

FIELD LEVEL

Get ready to get eye-level with the raised pitch. With some lower rows removed for the elevated field, the remaining seats offer an intimidatingly close view. The massive video board directly overhead means instant replays appear larger than life itself.

CLUB LEVEL

Multiple clubs are connected via climate-controlled concourses sporting full-service bars that typically have been known to stay open up to an hour after the final whistle. The Hall of Fame level sits just 21 rows from the field, close enough to see substitutes warming up and managers losing their minds.

MAIN CONCOURSE

The Mezzanine and Upper Deck are separated by the Suite Level, which creates a significant vertical gap. That means you're closer to luxury suite territory than nosebleeds.

SUITE LEVEL

Over 300 luxury suites spread across five levels, including field-level options where you could literally high-five players heading to the tunnel (please don't). These are where North Texas's oil executives will take in the game.

UPPER DECK

AT&T’s steep rake puts you closer to the action than traditional upper decks. You're also at the optimal angle for that video board, which at this height feels less like watching a screen and more like peering through a window into a parallel dimension where everything is 100 feet tall.

AROUND THE STADIUM

Pregame Plan: Texas Live! sits directly adjacent to AT&T Stadium. Not across a highway, not a shuttle ride away, but right there. This $250 million entertainment district becomes your pre-match headquarters, with the Arlington Backyard outdoor venue offering 5,000-person capacity for pre-match festivities.

Bullriding Bonanza: The PBR Texas bar features two mechanical bulls and claims the title of Professional Bull Riders' largest venue in the country, because nothing says "ready for Portugal vs. Ghana" like watching someone get launched off a mechanical bull while Cristiano Ronaldo warms up next door. The massive Live! Arena positions itself as the complex's living room, with 100-foot screens ensuring you won't miss early matches while preparing for yours.

Park and Party: For those seeking authenticity over spectacle, make the 5-10m drive to Downtown Arlington. J. Gilligan's Bar & Grill offers roundtrip shuttle service starting three hours before matches, turning their parking lot into an impromptu fan festival where $16 gets you transportation and access to a legitimate local hangout that predates the stadium's existence..

WHAT TO EAT AND DRINK

AT&T’s food experience sits at the top of NFL concessions rankings, but when you’re in Texas, you’re there for the excess. From Fritos-topped ice cream sundaes to a 1lb hamburger sandwiched between two pepperoni pizzas, AT&T has a knack for creating viral food items that belong as much at the State Fair of Texas as they do at a game. But the reality is that the Chilean-born Head Chef of their primary food provider, Legends, insists on making almost everything from scratch. Either way, just make sure you can still stand for the full 90 minutes!

TRAVEL TIPS

  • Fun fact: Arlington is the largest city in the US to not offer public transportation! The stadium’s 15 lots typically open five hours before matches and cost $25-$50, but expect World Cup pricing premiums. Lots generally require a 5-15 minute walk, but traffic can make your exit a 45-90 wait. Private lots charge similar rates with faster departures.
  • Regulars often avoid the Interstate 30 exit and instead take Highway 360 to Pioneer Parkway or exit earlier to access parallel roads. And if you want to make the entire experience a bit more proper, local restaurants (like J. Gilligan's!) offer shuttle service if you park in their lot, generally for either a low fee or food & drink minimum.

FINAL FACTS

Due to FIFA's sponsorship regulations, AT&T Stadium becomes "Dallas Stadium" during the World Cup despite sitting in Arlington, whose mayor has publicly requested it be called "Arlington-Dallas Stadium." Geographic accuracy loses to marketing every time.
