How do I get to SoFi Stadium?

The Game Plan

When FIFA looked for a venue to host the USMNT's World Cup opener, they found it in the most expensive stadium ever built. A $5.5 billion engineering marvel, SoFi’s field sits 100 feet underground, under a 2.2 million-pound video board that floats overhead, and offers 70,000 fabs an experience that’s somehow both indoors and outdoors at the same time.

The Infinity Screen (née Oculus) alone redefines what's possible. This isn't just a big screen: it's a 70,000-square-foot double-sided phenomenon suspended 122 feet in the air, longer than the field itself, with 80 million pixels visible from both sides simultaneously. Below it, you'll descend into what feels like a futuristic amphitheater carved into the California earth, where the translucent ETFE roof shields you from rain while 46 mechanized vents pull Pacific breezes through the bowl. No other stadium on Earth works like this.

Speaking of “nowhere else on earth” perhaps no American sports culture has been simultaneously so famous (Jack Nicholson! Will Ferrell!) and yet so maligned (wait, how many NFL teams have left town?) as that of LA. Yet the city’s relative proximity to the Baja border has led to a booming Mexican population, largely accounting for the fact that nearly half of LA residents identify as being Hispanic. Expect large-scale spectacle to meet homegrown passion when 2026 comes around.

SEATING GUIDE

FIELD LEVEL

These seats put you practically on the pitch, so close you'll see every touch, every tactical adjustment, every emotional moment. With 400 corner seats removed for FIFA's wider field requirements, you're looking at soccer-specific sightlines that bring you into the tactical battle. The demountable seating system means these sections are literally redesigned for football, not retrofitted.

CLUB LEVEL

Premium territory with access to the Google Cloud Club and Corona Beach House, where LA's see-and-be-seen culture meets World Cup fever. The cashless Square payment system and Uber Eats in-seat delivery mean you won't miss a second. Situated between the field and the oculus, you’ll be watching the match and the most advanced display technology on the planet simultaneously.

UPPER LEVELS

Don't let "upper" fool you, as the steep rake and subterranean design mean you're closer than upper decks at most stadiums. Plus, you're positioned perfectly to appreciate the spectacle of it all: the ETFE canopy above, the Oculus in front, and 70,000 fans creating atmosphere in this modern cathedral of football.

AROUND THE STADIUM

Pregame Plan: The 298-acre Hollywood Park complex surrounding SoFi offers legitimate dining, drinking, and entertainment within a 5-minute walk. YouTube Theater often hosts pre-match concerts, American Airlines Plaza creates a 2.5-acre covered tailgate zone, and by 2026 the new Kali Hotel's rooftop bar will be the spot for pre-game cocktails with stadium views.

Pregame Plan (Pt 2): Lots H, I, P, and Q transform into LA's answer to American tailgate culture. These are the only lots where grills are allowed (propane only), with dedicated 6x9 foot spaces behind each car.

Cork & Batter Sets the Standard: This three-level restaurant and rooftop bar sits literally across the street from the stadium at 3900 W Century Blvd. Their tri-tip nachos have become legendary among Rams fans, and the rooftop offers stadium views without stadium prices.

WHAT TO EAT AND DRINK

James Beard Award-winning LA chefs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo were tapped to create a concession program that actually reflects Los Angeles. Themed after distinct locations around town, each stand presents a different taste of LA: Olvera Street serves Cali Burritos stuffed with carne asada and french fries; Fairfax Avenue offers a hot pastrami that would make Canter's proud; and Sawtelle Boulevard brings ahi poke nachos and Korean BBQ options that capture LA's Pacific Rim soul. The 2024 addition of Texas Twinkies (aka brisket-stuffed jalapeños wrapped in bacon) at the Level 6 BBQ station proves they're not playing it safe. Every transaction runs through Square's cashless system with mobile ordering available stadium-wide.

TRAVEL TIPS

  • Public Transportation: The K Line's Downtown Inglewood Station sits 2 miles away, with free shuttle service running every 3-5 minutes starting three hours before kickoff for most games. The shuttle picks up at LAX/Metro Transit Center (Bus Bay 8) and runs until 90 minutes post-match.
  • Parking: Spots at the stadium’s Pink Zone lots (the ones that allow tailgating) require advance purchase. If you're not tailgating, save money and time by parking at private lots along Prairie Avenue for. You'll walk 10-15 minutes but exit hours faster than stadium lots.
  • Air Travel: At just 4 miles away, SoFi is the closest World Cup venue to a major airport. Rideshare runs $26-35 in normal traffic, but expect surge pricing on match days.

FUN FACTS

Depth Defying Logic: FAA restrictions from nearby LAX forced architects to dig 100 feet down, three times deeper than any other stadium. The result? You enter at ground level and descend into the action like entering an amphitheater, with the playing surface sitting at what would be the 10th basement level of a typical building.

Washington Grass: The hybrid grass for World Cup matches is being cultivated 1,000+ miles away in the Pacific Northwest where conditions are ideal, then shipped and installed using Permavoid technology. There's also 10,000 square feet of backup turf growing in the parking lot, just in case.

Olympic Transformation: After hosting World Cup matches in 2026 and Super Bowl LXI in 2027, SoFi will flood the entire stadium bowl to become the swimming venue for the 2028 Olympics, making it the only venue in history to host all three events in consecutive cycles.
